An implant is placed during a short surgical procedure where the dentist will drill a hole in your jaw bone under local anesthetic and an implant will be placed into this void. 

Once this is done a cover screw is placed on the implant and we allow the implant to integrate into the bone for at least 3 months.

After the implant has integrated, impressions will be taken and the implant will be prepared for a crown to be placed onto the implant, this can take up to 3 visits.  Implant dentistry (sydney) does take numerous appointments and must be done in set time frames, but this will all be explained to you in your initial implant consultation.
